Stop Procrastinating Starting Today

Procrastination is the biggest barrier to reaching any goal. In actual fact procrastination will rob you of life.

In order to stop procrastinating you must find out "who" is truly procrastinating. When you find yourself procrastinating, you have to come to see that there is something else that "takes you over," it is an identity shift, and this new persona is the procrastinator in you. You can learn to separate your deeper self from this unmotivated self, which is just a small part of what you are that lives at the surface, and this separation will help you overcome inertia and teach you to take motivated and steady action. Separation is not necessarily it but the understanding of the separation that takes place in daily life is key.

Who are you? This is the essential question you need to ask if you are to learn how to stop procrastinating. But do not assume that the answer to this question is verbal. It is not. The answer to the question: Who are you? Is experiential. It is a living answer. You can feel it. You can trust it. But you cannot understand it logically.

If you feel you are a procrastinator and this is a problem for you, understand that you are a human being who procrastinates, but you are not deeply and forever carved out to be a procrastinator.

In other words, if procrastination is a problem for you, you have to separate out the inability or unwillingness to motivate from the essence of who you are. If have to redefine yourself. You have to get your sense of self from something besides a label or a description or an inertial problem.

Look deep. Feel who you are. Try to get a sense of who you are. Are you merely thoughts, words or feelings? Do you frequently think of yourself as a procrastinator? Do you wish you could find a way to stop procrastinating using will power? If so, then these are signs you may have identified with a false sense of what you are.

If you think you are a procrastinator, then you have sold yourself short. That is just a label. Do labels and words make you human?

What all this means is that you are not "a procrastinator" even if you do procrastinate. Procrastination is actually something you do, but it is not something you are. Start to see "inaction" as a for of "Action." You may "do" procrastination, but you never "are" procrastination. This is the underlying identity form that you need to let go of to help stop procrastinating.

Once you begin to take the labels off your self, and define what you are from a deeper feeling, a deeper understanding of you nature, then you will have some wiser perspectives on procrastination. You probably will not take it so seriously anymore. You will not be so certain that it is part of your self-definition.

You stop procrastinating by ceasing to think of yourself as procrastination and therefore understanding thinking as a whole. Do this now! Do not wait another minute. I hope you found this helpful
